Question:
How do I know if I've had an orgasm? Do they always feel the same?

Lou’s Answer: |
Dear CCG:
The best way I can describe the buildup to and release of orgasmic energy is to relate it to a sneeze. As with a sneeze there is a build-up of sensation that may or may not come in waves and, finally builds with increased sensation intakes of breath and a feeling of inevitability to a very satisfying release with the sneeze. Orgasms have a similar form of energy build up but based in the genitals.
And no they do not always feel the same. Some are more intense than others and some feel different as a different nerve system is being stimulated. This is most noticeable for many women with the difference between clitoral stimulation and G spot stimulation. Clitoral feels more like a pulling “up and in” sensation whereas G spot feels more like a pushing down and out, all over body feel. The reason they feel differently is purely physical, the clitoris' nerve system is the pudendal nerve system and the G spot's is the pelvic hypogastric nerve system. Also please know women can experience 10 different types of orgasms from stimulation of the following areas; 1) mouth, 2) nipple/breast, 3) clitoris, 4) urethra, 5) G spot, 6) AFE - anterior fornix erotic zone top of vagina toward rear, 7) cervix, 8) fantasy - from fantasy alone with no stimulation of any other area, 9) zone -an area not usually considered to be an erotic area –feet, back of neck, 10) blended two areas stimulated at the same time. And regardless of where the stimulation occurs the orgasm is felt in the pelvis and genitals as the rhythmic contractions and sensation build up and release. I addressed ways to create all 10 for women and the 8 for men in the Big O: Orgasms.
Trust this clears up the mystery…. |

My girlfriend's claim they have multiple orgasms, what are those? |
Lou’s Answer:
|
First, I'll address what they are for women and what they are for men, as each sex has their own definition. Luckily for women we can experience multiples with greater ease than men due to how we experience orgasms, women do not have the blood exit their genitals post orgasm the way men do. Men have what is called the refractory phase where the blood rushes from their genitals post ejaculation and they loose their erections.
Here is the definition of female multiple orgasms: More than one orgasm during the same LOVE MAKING EVENT. For men the definition of multiple orgasms is more than one orgasm with the same ERECTION.
Your girlfriend's may experience their multiple orgasms in one of three ways as defined by Joel Black and Susan Crain Bakos, in Sex Over 50. Think of a necklace and each pearl is an orgasm. 1) Compound Singles – where each orgasm is distinct and separated by a partial return to the resolution phase; this necklace has a pearl and then a loop of chain in between, then another pearl. 2) Sequential Multiples – orgasms occur two to ten minutes apart with minimal reduction in arousal between them; this a like a pearl choker with a pearl, straight line of chain and another pearl, etc. 3) Serial Multiples – numerous orgasms are separated by mere seconds or minutes at most with no diminishment of arousal. Some women experience this as one long orgasm with spasms of varying intensity; this is the solid necklace of pearls. |
